Frequently Asked Questions
I'm new to modeling and really have no idea what I'm doing

That's ok...most people I work with don't. I will personally help you prepare for your shoot. And when you arrive I will help you with your wardrobe, poses, expressions, etc. So don't worry...just plan on having fun!

I have had some bad experiences with other photographers?

Unfortunately in this digital age alot of people with camera seem to think they are photographers. I will gladly give you a list of references that you can contact. My sessions are very professional and designed to bring out your best.

I have some problem areas that I'm not happy with?

Nobody's perfect and I don't expect you to be. Although, you should do everything you can to be prepared like working out, watching what you eat, etc. But I do understand that somethings can not be fixed overnight. I utilize the most up to date editing software to help deal with those "problem" areas. Check out the editing and retouching link for more answers to this.

It's winter and I feel that I'm too white?

Feel free to tan but please try not two withing 48 hours of your shoot. This can tend to leave your skin reddish. Also try and avoid blotchy spray tanning. Uniform skin tones are more important than how dark you are. I can darken your skin to an extent in the editing process but blotchy skin is quite abit more difficult to cover.

What ideas or concepts/background can I use?

Being primarily a location photographer I try to put together a location that goes with the look your trying to achieve. Be it a farm, private luxurious home, hot tub, etc. I have several places I can currently use and am usually able to come up with something if need be. So let your creativity come to life and together lets design your fantasy.

How far in advance do I need to book my shoot?

Typically I like to have at least two weeks notice so that I can be prepared aswell as yourself. If something is needed quicker than that, than I may be able to do a shoot on a shorter notice. Remember planning is imperative.

I have access to a great place to shoot?

Great!!! I'm always up for trying something new. Just keep in mind that if I have to travel than additional costs may occur.

What are my hair and makeup options?

Basically you have a few choices. You can have your hair or makeup done professionally at a salon before arriving to your shoot. You can hire an MUA, hairstylist or both and have them present at the shoot. Or you can do them yourself. If looking to hire someone to attend the shoot I can provide recommendations. If doing your own makeup please do some web searches on "how to apply makeup for photoshoots" as this makeup is generally applied heavier.

Do you provide wardrobe?

For the most part no. Once in a while a company will send me something to use. But to keep your costs down I do not invest in a ton of different outfits/sizes, etc. Besides...do you really want to wear undergarments that somebody else has? My advice is to bring more than you will need. Better to have more than enough than not enough. Also bring items that you like and feel confident in. Nothing worse than going out and buying alot of outfits only to find out that you really don't like how you look in them.

How many looks do I get?

That's up to you. It comes down to the amount of time that you have paid for. You can shoot as many outfits in your time period as you like. But I stress that when you try to pull of a high number of looks in a short period of time you will feel rushed and the images may suffer. Better to just go with 2 or 3 and nail that shot.

How many images do I get?

Again it comes down to what we have devised for you. Typically most people want to get between five and seven edited images. As a model there really is no need to have more than one image of a certain look. But if you want more we certainly can negotiate a price on extra images.

How long do I have to wait till I get my pictures?

Time varies upon my current workload. Proofing gallaries are generally available within a couple days of the shoot. Once you have decided which images you would like retouched then it can take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks to recieve them. If you are under a time restraint of some sort (ie, agency needs them by friday) then I can make exceptions at times.

Why don't I see any photoshoot prices on your website?

My shoots are customized for you and what you need and want. Why pay for something your not gooing to use. We can discuss exactly what your looking for aswell as the budget you want to stay within. The only variance to this is my posted monthly specials. But even my specials are still customizable. All shoots will require a 50% non refundable deposit.

I want to be famous. What can you do for me?

Don't we all? What I can do is provide you with the best quality images I can. Therefore helping you get noticed. I'm not an agency so I have no saying if someone gets hired for a job or not. Now I do have some publications that I regularly contribute too but these publications may not be for everyone. My advice to you, is to get the best possible portfolio you can put together and then market yourself as much as possible.

What is your cancellation policy?

Due to my tight schedule and in the fairness of other clients my policy is that shoots cancelled within 24 hours completely lose their deposit. Shoots cancelled prior to 24 hours can be rescheduled and the deposit applied towards that.
